Mineola League of the Arts - Annual Juried Art Show - 2014

I am thrilled and honored to have been awarded Best Of Show in my division for my still life "Reflection of an Orange", as well as First Place in my category for my tractor pastel at the Mineola League of the Arts Annual Juried Art Show this past week!

And as if that weren't enough, I also came home with the People's Choice Award for my still life pastel! It was chosen out of all exhibition entries throughout the duration of the show via secret ballot by the public and fellow competitors. Best first art show ever!

At The Ranch

My friend commissioned me to paint a picture of the backyard view at her family's ranch home. She's giving it to her in-laws for a Christmas present. Can't wait to hear what they think!

From the photograph reference...

To the final piece...

Going For A Ride

My uncle and my son "going for a ride" on the John Deere tractor.

Soft Pastel on Sanded Paper

This has been the most enjoyable piece to date for me.
I'm so grateful to Paige Bridges for her guidance with it. She is an amazingly talented artist!
You can go to and check out some of her beautiful work.

Illustration Friday - This Week's Topic - ROBOT

I love Illustration Friday at!
Although I don't always have the opportunity to participate,
I enjoy being inspired by all of the creative entries every week.
This week's topic was my 6-year-old son's favorite!
So I couldn't resist proudly helping him post his amazing creation...

Learning To Fish

My daughter several years ago with her first fishing pole.
Didn't catch a thing, but had a wonderful day!
